Harnessing University Expertise to Create Meaningful Social Design Projects
The Office of Sustainability develops project-based courses centered on social engagement, social innovation, social design, and social impact, bringing together the expertise of faculty and students to address pressing societal challenges. These projects tackle issues such as poverty, environmental degradation, transportation, declining birth rates, population aging, housing affordability, living quality, energy sustainability, food safety, waste management, and public safety, while cultivating practical solutions with lasting social value.
CSR+USR Partnership Model
Advancing University Social Responsibility for Sustainable Development
Through a CSR+USR partnership model, Feng Chia University collaborates with industry partners to promote university social responsibility initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students explore topics such as the SDGs, university social responsibility, and regional revitalization through the University’s core general education curriculum. Project-based and community-engagement courses further encourage student organizations and volunteer teams to develop and implement social participation projects that contribute to sustainable development.
