The largest iOS application development competition in Taiwan, the “10th Mobile Application Innovation Contest” Grand Final, was held yesterday (8th) at Virtuosi Hall, Feng Chia University. The event was co-organized by Asia’s largest Apple reseller STUDIO A’s campus brand Straight A, Feng Chia University, and National Taiwan University’s Apple RTC, with official support from Apple. This year’s contest set a new record, attracting 658 teams and 1,021 faculty and students from 71 universities and colleges across Taiwan. The competition was fierce and creativity abounded, showcasing the limitless potential of Taiwanese students in iOS application innovation.

A total of 21 teams from 12 universities and colleges across Taiwan advanced to the finals, including National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Cheng Kung University, Feng Chia University, Chung Yuan Christian University, National Dong Hwa University, Tunghai University, and others. The final round featured a world-class jury with Apple WWDC-level credentials, who attended in person to witness the students’ creative prowess.

After intense competition, the most innovative award and the top three winning teams were selected. Due to the exceptionally high quality of this year’s entries, the organizers made an exception and selected the top four teams to represent Taiwan at the Greater China Finals, to be held at Zhejiang University at the end of the year, competing for greater international honors. To help the teams prepare, the organizers have planned intensive summer training courses covering design, development, and business presentations, and will provide full subsidies for transportation and accommodation.

This year’s entries covered diverse themes such as education, health, sustainability, and social care, and widely integrated Apple’s latest cutting-edge technologies including AI, AR, and visionOS. The jury commented that the technological proficiency of Taiwanese students is now on par with their peers in the United States, Europe, and Mainland China, demonstrating a high level of interdisciplinary integration and problem-solving ability.
