Research is crucial for advancing new ideas and technologies.

Taiwan’s first “Super-advanced Intelligent Electronic Shock Absorption System” not only provides the domestic auto-electric industry with independent cutting-edge sensing and control technologies but also effectively enhances the domestic auto-electric industry’s domestic R&D capabilities and enters the supply chain of the vehicle industry. The RoSoCoop Robot Construction Laboratory developed Taiwan’s first “on-site construction robot” and is a great step towards smart construction. In the research of “biomass energy”, we have cooperated with Khon Kaen University, Thailand, to build a biomass energy model plant in the Northeast Thailand Science and Technology Park, which has been in operation since 2021 to produce biogas and generate electricity. Our faculty and student teams have demonstrated their research and development capabilities with outstanding results.

There are over 60 research centers on campus, including Green Energy Development Center, APEC Advanced Biomass Hydrogen Technology Research Center, and the Center for Geographic Information Studies – the first standards-compatible testing center in Asia, which has been twice honored by the US-based Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) with a Special Achievement in GIS Award. FCU is ahead of industry trends with outstanding accomplishments in several areas such as bio-hydrogen energy, 5G applications, smart cities, net zero carbon emissions, information and communication security, plasma technology, financial technology, autonomous-driving subsystems, digital construction, and space technology.

Feng Chia University is one of the few universities in Taiwan that has an aerospace-related institute. It has recently been approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a “Master Program of Space System Engineering”.
