The difference between pre-university and post-graduation is what makes education valuable.

Education’s primary purpose is to inspire and drive people, in addition to imparting knowledge. The new competence-oriented 2019 curriculum is an integration of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. In response to the competence-oriented teaching strategy, we have not only adjusted the curriculum but also launched the largest construction project since the founding of FCU. The new “Virtuosi Hall”, which will be completed in 2024, will be the best place to implement Feng Chia’s digital transformation and strengthen the resilience of the campus in addition to embodying the educational ideals and spirit of the university.

ROSO is an interdisciplinary research team. The main objective of the laboratory is to use innovative robotics technology and computational design thinking to provide diverse intelligent construction processes and solutions. Through the collision of various emerging technologies, ROSO aims to open up discussions on “the imagination of architecture” and “the possibilities of construction.

Innovative Curriculum

We promote the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s CDIO educational model and Stanford University’s Design Thinking project learning framework to develop key competencies for students capable of integrating knowledge and application as well as commencing inter-disciplinary education.

The CDIO curriculum framework allows students to integrate courses and modularize the curriculum, enabling them to integrate their four years of study. In addition, the university’s ten colleges work together to address real industrial and social issues, linking artificial intelligence, sustainable development, social innovation, and business models, etc., to cultivate practical talents who “not only sees the problems but also delivers the solutions”.

Academic Structure for Active Learning

To allow students to create their learning modules and take the lead in education, we break the framework of departments and provide innovative academic structure of free transfer, A-in-B-out, minor, and second major, so that students can acquire interdisciplinary expertise or have the opportunity to reorient themselves. All these will be achieved without increasing their graduation credits.

Introduce a variety of digital learning methods and tools to inspire students to learn actively. To facilitate digital learning, we have established an information headquarter integrating teaching technology, information service, and information security to implement the educational philosophy of “Beautiful Campus Smart Learning.” upon the completion of “Virtuosi Hall”.
