Hosted by the College of Business at Feng Chia University, the 2025 Feng Chia–ASEAN International Conference on Business and Management was held on June 19–20 at the university’s International Conference Hall. This conference was not just an academic gathering, but a true celebration of collaboration. In her opening remarks, Prof. Chiung-Ju Huang, Dean of the College of Business, emphasized: “Through this event, we hope not only to exchange knowledge, but also to build bridges of collaboration that cross national boundaries, academic disciplines, and cultures.”

The conference opened with welcoming remarks from Dean Huang, who also expressed her appreciation to partners — Dean Piyatida Pianluprasidh of the School of Management, Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand, and Dean Kenji Yasukata of the Faculty of Business Administration, Kindai University in Japan — for their presence and opening speeches.

Two distinguished speakers from the University of Queensland further enriched the program — Prof. Daniel Zizzo, Academic Dean and Head of School, School of Economics, delivered a keynote speech titled “Inattention and Beliefs Updating in a Changing World,” providing deep insights into the latest developments in behavioral economics. Prof. Andrew Griffiths, Executive Dean, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, led an expert panel on “The Importance of Sustainability as Both a Research and Teaching Topic in Business Schools,” emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainability into both research and business education.

This year’s event drew more than 100 participants, including scholars, researchers, and students from Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe, showcasing the vibrancy and multicultural spirit of international academic exchange.

The program was further enriched by a keynote speech from Prof. Daniel Zizzo, Academic Dean and Head of School, School of Economics at the University of Queensland, who shared valuable insights with the international audience.

Prof. Andrew Griffiths, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland, led a high-level panel discussion on “The Importance of Sustainability as Both a Research and Teaching Topic in Business Schools,” underscoring the global relevance of sustainability in business education.

To further promote cultural understanding and international friendship, the second day featured a Cultural and Academic Excursion. Participants visited Chung Tai Chan Monastery to experience Taiwan’s Buddhist culture and architectural beauty and enjoyed a local dessert tasting at Miyahara. Through these cultural experiences, the conference fostered stronger academic partnerships and personal connections among participants.

Looking ahead, the College of Business at Feng Chia University remains committed to expanding its international network, deepening collaboration with Southeast Asian and global partners, and cultivating business and management professionals with global perspectives and practical skills—contributing to the ongoing internationalization of Taiwan’s higher education.
