The 2024 Feng Chia Cup [Shoes Can Jump. Youth Will Fly] Basketball volleyball match started yesterday (4th). Chairman Gao Cheng Shu and Principal Wang Wei were present to cheer and encourage the students and said that this event is not only a sports event, but also allows students to study on the sports field, put on a pair of sports shoes to shoot and smash the ball, also have gratitude for the source of benefit. Thanks to many Taiwanese businessmen for their hard work, which has made Taiwanese shoemaking market share as high as 70%. I am also grateful to the Taiwan Shoe Industry Education Foundation for giving to our school diverse educational resources.

After Chairman Gao kicked off the first men's basketball game, the audience cheered and held their breath! Originally, the Electronic Engineering Department led by nearly ten points, but the Fiber and Composite Materials Department successfully staged a comeback in the fourth quarter. In the end, the Electronic Engineering Department took the lead by one point. In the first game of the volleyball match, the Electrical Engineering Department met the Transportation Logistics Department and won 2:0!

The event, organized by academic departments with a focus on freshmen participation, attracted nearly a hundred teams – 43 in basketball and 54 in volleyball – totaling over a thousand participating students. Qualifying matches started on March 1st, advancing 16 basketball and volleyball teams. The intense championship battles started on the 4th and will continue until March 28th, with the final games slated for March 29th at the main sports arena.

This event exemplifies the unity within the university community, creating collective memories for Feng Chia University students. The 2024 Feng Chia Cup, themed "Shoes Can Jump. Youth Will Fly," organized by the university and sponsored by the Taiwan Footwear Educational Foundation, aims to ignite students' passion for sports, encourage self-challenge, and emphasize that participation is a victory. In addition to the main basketball and volleyball tournaments, entertaining competitions like the basketball "Shooting Star" and volleyball "Serve King". To boost team morale and highlight teamwork, a special team spirit slogan award encourages students from different departments to unite and cheer for their teams.
