To assist international students studying in Taiwan in securing employment upon graduation, the "2026 Work in Taiwan Industry Employment Follow Me: Job Matching and Exchange Event for International Master's and Doctoral Talent" was held on May 29 at Feng Chia University. Hosted by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and executed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the event drew 106 international students from multiple countries. Eleven participating companies offered 71 job openings spanning diverse sectors including semiconductors, aerospace, biotechnology, and digital services, reflecting the strong demand for international talent within Taiwan's industry.

Eleven companies participated in the event, offering more than 70 job openings and attracting over 100 international students.

NSTC Section Chief Ting-Yun Chang of the Industry-Academia and Science Park Affairs Division noted that amid the intensifying global competition for talent, countries worldwide are actively investing in the recruitment and development of international professionals. Taiwan continues to advance its international talent retention mechanisms through policy integration and resource coordination. In addition to building job-matching platforms, the government has deployed a range of career counseling and stay-in-Taiwan support resources, with the aim of helping international students smoothly transition into Taiwan's job market upon graduation and become a vital source of talent for industrial development.

The event was co-organized by Feng Chia University's Office of Industry Collaboration and Extension, Office of International Affairs, and Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Representatives from the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor, Talent Taiwan, and the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) were also present to share information on employment, residency, and living resources in Taiwan, helping international talent gain a comprehensive understanding of their options for building a future in the country.

Vice-President Shwu-Ting Lee of Feng Chia University, in her remarks at the opening ceremony, highlighted that Taiwan holds globally competitive advantages in semiconductors, smart manufacturing, biomedical technology, and digital technology, making it highly attractive to international talent. Feng Chia University has long assisted international students in connecting with industry needs ahead of graduation through mechanisms including internships, industry-sponsored projects, micro-credential programs, and career advising. The introduction of NSTC and ITRI policy resources directly into the campus environment, she noted, will help narrow the gap between academic study and professional application, and strengthen the competitiveness of international students choosing to develop their careers in Taiwan.
