Since the 2023 academic year, the Center for General Education at Feng Chia University has actively encouraged students to participate in the Ministry of Education Youth Development Administration’s Young Flying Global Action Program. Over the years, FCU teams have achieved an average acceptance rate of approximately 70 percent. In the 2025–2026 academic year, eight teams submitted proposals, seven advanced through the first-stage review, and six ultimately passed the final selection process, achieving an acceptance rate of nearly 80 percent.
The selected teams will receive guidance from the Youth Development Administration, engage with international organizations, develop local action initiatives, and participate in year-end achievement exchanges and outstanding team evaluations.

Six Feng Chia University student teams successfully passed the final review of the Ministry of Education Youth Development Administration’s Young Flying Global Action Program, achieving an acceptance rate of nearly 80 percent.
To strengthen student participation and learning outcomes, the Center for General Education incorporated the program into its self-directed learning course, “Sustainability in Action: Local Engagement and Global Connections.” The Center established a comprehensive support mechanism through two sequential two-credit courses. The first stage focuses on identifying issues and developing practical solutions, guiding students to create action-oriented sustainability proposals. The second stage emphasizes intercultural exchange and international dialogue, helping students build a global understanding of local challenges.
The program is supervised by Professor Ming-Feng Hsieh of the School of Architecture, with program coordination provided by Yi-Ying Lin from the Center. An advisory committee composed of Sheng-Po Tai, Executive Director of the Center for General Education; Ju-Chuan Wu of the Department of Business Administration; and Yi-Fang Chiang and Chien-Hui Wang of the Department of Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship was established to assist students in refining their proposals and improving project feasibility.

The Center for General Education held an information session for its self-directed learning course and invited program representatives from the Youth Development Administration to explain the application process for the Young Flying Global Action Program.
The six selected teams and their project themes are:
Bridge_Makers – Developing an AI-powered support platform for international students.Adventure Voices – Creating interactive digital storybooks and hearing-assistance applications for children with hearing impairments.Breakthrough Makers – Enhancing youth fraud-prevention awareness through board games and real fraud case studies.CELL – Building stronger support networks for family caregivers.Second Cycle: Small Circular Wardrobe – Promoting a circular economy for clothing on campus.Without You, I Can Read – Helping older adults reduce the digital divide and improve digital literacy.
These projects demonstrate how students are integrating technology with social engagement to address contemporary challenges.
Notably, approximately 70 percent of participating students were freshmen and sophomores. The Raspbarry team, composed entirely of first-year students, successfully passed the first-stage proposal review. Although it did not advance to the final stage, the team’s dedication and performance were highly praised by the advisory committee, and the Center will continue supporting its participation in future projects and competitions.
The Center for General Education will continue promoting participation in the Young Flying Global Action Program, helping students cultivate global perspectives, interdisciplinary integration skills, and the ability to transform innovative ideas into meaningful social action. Through these experiences, FCU students continue to demonstrate the integration of global vision and local engagement.

FCU students actively participated in discussions and exchanges during the training camp. The Center for General Education will continue encouraging students to join the program and strengthen their global perspectives and interdisciplinary capabilities.
