The 2026 Business Data Analytics and Decision-Making Competition – Business Transformation, Upgrade, and Expansion, jointly organized by the College of Business and the College of Finance at Feng Chia University, concluded successfully on June 12. A total of 33 teams comprising 136 students advanced to the final round. Participants selected real companies or brands as their subjects of analysis and developed strategic recommendations focused on brand transformation, operational upgrading, or market expansion, demonstrating their ability to address real-world business challenges through data analytics and business insights.

Eligible participants were enrolled in integrated core courses during the 2025–2026 academic year, covering fields such as economics, statistics, accounting, management, marketing, and finance. The competition encouraged interdisciplinary and cross-grade collaboration, enabling students from diverse academic backgrounds to combine their expertise and develop proposals grounded in practical business scenarios.

To support participants, the organizers offered two preparatory workshops. On April 28, Chia-Wei Kuo, Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial Design at Tunghai University, delivered a session titled Breaking into the World of Short-Form Video Content, helping students strengthen their multimedia storytelling skills. On May 6, Yi-Fang Chiang, Associate Professor of the Department of Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship, led a design thinking workshop that guided students in systematically analyzing business problems.

The final competition opened in the Business Building, with welcoming remarks from Chiung-Ju Huang, Dean of the College of Business, and Chien-Yi Tsai, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Industry and academic professionals served as judges, including marketing manager Ling-Yi Chou of China Surgical Dressings Center Co., Ltd., General Manager Li-Sheng Hsu of Weijen Food Industry Co., Ltd., Associate Executive Director Jui-Yu Chen of the EMBA Program at National Taichung University of Education, Associate General Manager Yu-Hung Chien of Sugar & Spice Bakery Group, as well as faculty members from the Colleges of Business and Finance.

In addition to the Chinese Presentation Division and the EMI English Presentation Division, this year introduced a new Multilingual Short-Video Division. Entries were required to include English subtitles, encouraging students to present business analyses through creative video production while enhancing their digital content creation, cross-cultural communication, and creative expression skills.

Following the awards ceremony, judges provided comprehensive feedback on the projects, offering students diverse perspectives on business analysis and decision-making. The College of Business noted that the competition enabled participants to strengthen skills in data collection, analytical reasoning, teamwork, and presentation, while also benefiting from interactions with industry professionals and academic experts.

Looking ahead, the College will continue to promote experiential learning through competitions, capstone projects, and industry-academia collaboration. By integrating theory with practice, the College aims to cultivate future business leaders equipped with both international perspectives and practical problem-solving capabilities.
