At the 2026 National Student Club Excellence Awards organized by the Chinese Association for Student Club Education, both a faculty member and a student from Feng Chia University received national recognition. Wei-Lun Wu of the Extracurricular Activity Section and Shan-Ni Yeh from the Department of Land Management were honored as an Outstanding Student Club Advisor and an Outstanding Student Club Leader, respectively. They attended the National Extracurricular Affairs Heritage Workshop on April 17 to receive their awards.
As a student club advisor, Wu demonstrates a combination of professional guidance and caring mentorship. He helps students develop responsibility, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities while actively promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainability education. The “FCU Daily Festival,” which he planned together with student associations, incorporated Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) concepts, enabling students to strengthen self-awareness, empathy, and teamwork through real-life experiences. In large-scale intercollegiate projects such as the Central Taiwan Ten-University Summer Joint Service Team, Wu has also shown exceptional resource integration and communication skills, serving as a role model for students.
Shan-Ni Yeh, recognized as an Outstanding Student Club Leader, launched several innovative initiatives during her tenure as president of the Chinyun Guitar Club, including the “Mi-Gi Cup Music Competition,” a four-club collaborative flash mob performance, and a song cover project. These efforts significantly enhanced the club’s visibility on campus while strengthening member cohesion. Under her leadership, the club won first place in the Recreational Club Management Award category of the university’s annual student club evaluation.
Yeh was also named Best Presenter and was subsequently invited by the university to serve as a student evaluator for campus-wide club assessments. Beyond her club involvement, her outstanding contributions to the FCU Sustainability Living Festival and the Student Organization Leadership Camp further demonstrated her sense of social responsibility and interdisciplinary leadership.
According to the organizer, this year’s competition was highly competitive, attracting 50 of Taiwan’s top student club leaders and numerous distinguished advisors. Ultimately, only 10 student leaders and 13 advisors received awards. The recognition of both Wei-Lun Wu and Shan-Ni Yeh at the national level not only highlights their dedication and achievements but also reflects Feng Chia University’s long-standing commitment to extracurricular education and leadership development.
