Dominating Central Taiwan: The Feng Chia University men’s basketball team captured the regional championship with three consecutive victories.
In the opening game against Chung Shan Medical University, Feng Chia struggled offensively in the early stages and found itself caught in a scoring slump. However, the players remained composed while constant encouragement from the bench kept team morale high. Fueled by relentless defensive pressure and fast-break opportunities in the second half, Feng Chia mounted a comeback and secured a 72–64 victory, setting the tone for a tournament defined by resilience and perseverance.
The following day, the team faced a highly anticipated matchup against Overseas Chinese University. Having endured difficult contests against the same opponent in previous years, Feng Chia entered the game determined to overcome a long-standing hurdle. From the opening tip-off, the team imposed an aggressive defensive strategy that effectively neutralized its opponent’s offense. The result was a dominant 73–43 victory, a breakthrough performance that not only erased a psychological barrier but also propelled the team’s confidence to new heights.
In the tournament finale against Ling Tung University, Feng Chia showcased its most complete performance of the competition. Efficient ball movement and disciplined execution led to an emphatic 86–53 victory, completing the team’s three-game sweep.
Five Feng Chia players scored in double figures. Team captain Cheng-Yen Tsai led the way with 17 points, followed by Ya-Chun Kuan with 15 points and Chia-Hsun Yang with 11 points. Inside the paint, the team’s two key frontcourt players delivered dominant performances: Hua-Chun Ma recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Chen-En Lo contributed 12 points and an impressive 21 rebounds. Both players achieved double-doubles and provided crucial interior defense and rebounding strength throughout the game.
