The Alumni Association of the Graduate Institute of Financial and Economic Law at Feng Chia University held its Second General Assembly of the Second Term on April 26 under the theme of “Legacy and the Common Good.” Witnessed by President Wei Wang and distinguished guests from academia, government, and industry, founding president Chun-Hao Liu officially passed leadership responsibilities to the newly elected president, Pi-Chen Lin, highlighting the strong tradition of mentorship and continuity among FCU legal professionals.

In her remarks, President Wang commended Liu’s vision and leadership in establishing the alumni association. She praised the organization for successfully strengthening alumni connections, promoting organizational development, and building collaborative relationships across academic disciplines within a relatively short period of time. She also encouraged the association to continue expanding its influence and becoming one of FCU’s most representative professional alumni organizations.

The event also carried special significance as it welcomed Professor Wen-Yi Lin, who is approaching retirement, and former institute director Jer-Yann Lin, adding a meaningful sense of continuity and gratitude to the gathering.

Current institute director Yi-Hsin Yuan delivered a keynote speech titled “The Role of Legal Professionals in the Age of AI.” His presentation explored both the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence presents to the legal profession, offering forward-looking insights and practical perspectives that were well received by attendees.

Founding president Chun-Hao Liu expressed appreciation to the faculty members and board members who contributed their time and effort during the association’s formative years, helping establish a solid foundation for future development.

New president Pi-Chen Lin pledged to further strengthen industry-academia collaboration, expand the alumni network, and enhance the social impact of FCU’s financial and economic law community.

In addition, under Director Yuan’s leadership, supporters from various sectors continue to contribute to initiatives such as the National Examination Preparation Program and the Graduate Institute Development Fund, providing meaningful educational resources and support for current students.

The Alumni Association stated that it will continue upholding Feng Chia University’s motto of “Loyalty, Diligence, Sincerity, and Simplicity” while transforming legal expertise into a force for social good.

Alumni members will continue to pursue excellence in their respective professional fields, embodying the values of rigor, innovation, and social responsibility that characterize FCU legal professionals. Through these efforts, they aim to contribute to society and strengthen the influence of the Graduate Institute of Financial and Economic Law.
