 Taiwan’s leading semiconductor process equipment manufacturer, Zhi Sheng Industrial Co., Ltd., and Feng Chia University held the 2025–26 Academic Year成果發表會 for the Feng Chia University–Zhi Sheng Industrial Team Innovation Incentive Development Fund on August 11 at the University’s Science and Aerospace Building. Since 2022, Zhi Sheng Industrial has donated a total of NT$5 million over five years to establish the fund, which has supported 13 interdisciplinary innovation teams to date. At the presentation event, Zhi Sheng Industrial General Manager You-Wen Liang and Feng Chia University President Vey Wang attended in person to witness the成果 of industry-academia collaboration and innovation projects.

At the presentation event, four project teams showcased their innovative achievements:

  1. Distinguished Chair Professor Bing-Jean Lee’s Team (Office of Technology Development) launched the 2026 Feng Chia University Technology Innovation Application Competition, attracting 148 teams and 661 faculty members and students. The competition encourages participants to address real-world challenges through innovative technologies and human-centered solutions, highlighting interdisciplinary integration and practical innovation. The initiative also aligns with Taiwan’s policy priorities in AI development, net-zero transition, and smart city construction while fostering future-ready talent. 
  2. Assistant Professor Chuan-Sheng Wei’s Team (Department of Applied Mathematics, Softball Faculty Association Team) implemented the Sustainable Development Proposal for Feng Chia University Softball Programs, integrating ESG and SDG indicators into campus sporting events. The project promotes green and low-impact competitions while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), turning sustainability principles into concrete actions in campus sports. 
  3. Associate Professor Chao-Chan Wu’s Team (Department of Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship) developed an analytical framework titled Key Factors for Taiwanese SMEs Adopting Carbon Management Control Systems (CMCS). The framework helps resource-constrained small and medium-sized enterprises conduct systematic assessments, allocate resources more effectively, and incorporate carbon management into their core business strategies.
  4. Assistant Professor Hao Wang’s Team (Department of Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship) carried out the project“Bamboo for Life” – Launching Sustainable Tourism in Indigenous Communities on Palawan Island through Renewable Energy, Clean Water, and Quality Education. The team installed solar power systems and water filtration facilities while providing financial literacy and equipment management training, helping local communities build self-sufficiency in managing utilities and community assets.

With financial support and unconditional backing from Zhi Sheng Industrial, Feng Chia University continues to transform academic research into actionable solutions for industrial and societal challenges, providing Taiwan’s next generation with the resources and platforms needed to turn innovative ideas into reality.

FCU College of Construction and Development Partners with National Security Industry Association to Launch Building Life-Cycle Management Program

The College of Construction and Development at Feng Chia University (FCU) and the National Association of Security Companies, R.O.C. have jointly established a partnership to cultivate professionals in building operations management. In collaboration with the Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration and Continuing Education, the two organizations will launch a new course,“Building Life-Cycle Management and Practice,” this September. In addition, a new Building Operations Management Track will be introduced within the Master’s Program of Construction Management for Working Professionals beginning in Academic Year 2027–28. The initiative aims to develop high-level professionals equipped with expertise in architecture, technology applications, and management.

FIP-SPE@FCU Hosts ICAPS 2026, Bringing Together Scholars from Taiwan, Germany, Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong to Discuss Smart Semiconductor Plasma Processes

The 2026 International Conference on Advanced Plasma for Semiconductors (ICAPS 2026), organized by the Feng Chia University–Fraunhofer Innovation Platform (FIP-SPE@FCU), was held from July 8 to 9 at Xue Si Building on the Feng Chia University campus. Under the theme of “Simulation, Artificial Intelligence, and Plasma Processes in Semiconductor Manufacturing,” the conference attracted approximately 160 scholars, research institute representatives, industry experts, and young researchers from Taiwan, Germany, Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong to explore the latest research achievements and technological developments in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

Ministry of the Interior and Academia Sinica Adopt Feng Chia University Student Project to Develop Public 3D Building Solar Energy Information Service

Students Chen-Yuan Hsieh, Tzu-Ting Lin, and Yu-Chen Yeh of the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Information at Feng Chia University won first place in the university category of the 8th National Spatial Data GIS Competition on July 1 with their research project on an urban solar photovoltaic potential map. Their award-winning project has since attracted the attention of the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center, Ministry of the Interior and Academia Sinica. Through collaboration among academia, government, and industry, the student research has been expanded into a public service platform known as the 3D Building Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Potential Inquiry Service, which is available free of charge to the public.
