The College of Finance at Feng Chia University (FCU) and Uni-President Asset Management Corp. have continued their industry-academia partnership for a fourth consecutive year through the jointly offered Investment Fund Management course. The semester-end project presentation was held on June 9. The course was co-designed by Yung-Kuan Tung, President of Uni-President Asset Management, and Associate Professor Tsung-Ju Lee of FCU’s Department of Finance, attracting 54 students from 16 different departments and programs across the University. This year, President Securities Corporation joined the program for the first time to introduce overseas entrusted trading services, helping students develop a global perspective on asset allocation and international investing.

Throughout the semester, students participated in intensive practical training covering key investment topics, including mutual funds, ETFs, asset allocation, and alternative investments. As the final project, the 54 students formed 11 teams to conduct independent research and deliver presentations on topics such as global economic outlooks, fund analysis, and investment recommendations. The final presentation session was evaluated by senior executives from Uni-President Asset Management, including President Yung-Kuan Tung, Vice President Yu-Fang Lee, and Associate Vice President Chih-Feng Tseng, who provided professional feedback from an industry perspective.

The championship was awarded to an interdisciplinary team comprising Hsien-Hao Ko from the Department of Finance, Nien-Chia Su from the Bachelor’s Program of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Science, and Wei-Cheng Lin from the Department of Information Engineering. Their project,“Rare Earth Strategic Minerals Industry Analysis,” examined the critical role of rare earth minerals in global technology development and strategic supply chains. The project’s in-depth research and forward-looking investment insights received unanimous praise from the judges.

An interdisciplinary team consisting of students from the Department of Finance, the Bachelor’s Program of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Science, and the Department of Information Engineering received the championship award, presented by Yung-Kuan Tung, President of Uni-President Asset Management Corp.

The runner-up award went to four first-year students from the Bachelor’s Program of Interior Design: Ting-Yu Lai, En-Tzu Hu, Ho-Hsin Shen, and En-Yu Liu. Inspired by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote at GTC Taipei, they identified the growing importance of AI Agents and quickly analyzed related companies and investment funds. Judges were particularly impressed by the team’s ability to identify emerging trends, evaluate funds, and present timely market insights despite having no prior background in finance.

According to Associate Professor Tsung-Ju Lee, one of the course’s greatest achievements is its ability to attract students from diverse academic backgrounds. He noted that students from finance, actuarial science, information engineering, and even interior design successfully transformed current technology trends into investment analyses, demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary learning and industry collaboration. He also expressed appreciation for the Uni-President Asset Management executive team’s direct involvement in mentoring students and sharing practical industry experience.

Beyond the classroom, Uni-President Asset Management continues to be recognized for its strong performance in Taiwan’s asset management industry. The company once again received the Equity Group Award at the 2026 Lipper Taiwan Fund Awards, bringing its cumulative award total to 152. In April 2026, its assets under management surpassed NT$1 trillion, with actively managed funds accounting for more than 90% of its portfolio.

FCU also encourages students to participate in Uni-President Asset Management’s summer internship program, providing opportunities to engage directly with investment professionals and apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Looking ahead, both partners plan to further strengthen their collaboration and create more opportunities for students from diverse disciplines to develop interdisciplinary financial literacy and practical investment expertise.
