Stanford University Announces 2024 World's Top 2% Scientists List: 35 Feng Chia University Faculty Members Recognized
Stanford University, using Scopus publication impact data, announced the 2024 "World's Top 2% Scientists" list in September 2025. This year, Feng Chia University has 35 faculty entries on the list, up from 28 last year, demonstrating continuous breakthroughs in academic research.
Among them, 21 faculty members were included in the "Career-long Scientific Impact Ranking (1960–2024)", with Professor Jerry J. Wu from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science listed in both the Materials and Energy fields. Additionally, 12 faculty members were selected for the "2024 Annual Scientific Impact Ranking", with Professor Jia-Horng Lin from the Department of Fiber and Composite Materials recognized in both Materials and Polymers fields. Notably, 9 faculty members were listed in both rankings, two more than last year.
Compared to last year, Feng Chia University showed growth in several indicators: total entries increased from 28 to 35; "Career-long Scientific Impact Ranking" from 18 to 22; "Annual Scientific Impact Ranking" from 10 to 12. Especially, the number of faculty listed in both rankings grew from 6 to 9, highlighting the university's strong foundation in long-term research and increasing international recognition for recent achievements.
Among the outstanding individual performances, Professor Jerry J. Wu (Department of Environmental Engineering and Science) was listed in both Materials and Energy fields of the "Career-long Scientific Impact Ranking", and also in the Energy field of the "Annual Scientific Impact Ranking". Professor Jia-Horng Lin (Department of Fiber and Composite Materials) was recognized in both Materials and Polymers fields of the "Annual Scientific Impact Ranking", and also entered the Materials field of the "Career-long Scientific Impact Ranking". Associate Professor Yu-An Shen (Department of Materials Science and Engineering) was listed for the first time in the Materials field of the "Annual Scientific Impact Ranking", showcasing the potential and dedication of Feng Chia University's new generation of scholars in interdisciplinary research.
