In response to geopolitical changes and the post-pandemic era, as well as considering the global job market, Feng Chia University has expanded its cooperation with Australia this year and successfully obtained approval from the Ministry of Education in July to establish the Design Double Bachelor Degree Program with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the Electrical Engineering Double Bachelor Degree Program with the University of Queensland (UQ). The two newly established international programs are in partnership with renowned Australian universities that are among the world's top 100, and focus on the fields of "design" and "electrical engineering". The first cohort of students is expected to enroll in the academic year 2025, marking a new page for the ten-year journey of international collaboration in education, and providing more diverse options for Taiwanese parents and students who wish to study abroad.

Feng Chia University was the first in Taiwan to establish the International School of Technology and Management in 2014, and the first to offer 2+2 international double degree programs. After ten years of hard work, the current partner universities include Purdue University, the University of Queensland, Monash University, RMIT University, and the newly joined University of New South Wales, all of which are world-class universities. So far, there are seven internationally renowned universities and nine international programs in cooperation, and nearly 300 outstanding graduates have obtained bilateral bachelor's degrees from Feng Chia University and partner universities in the United States and Australia, achieving remarkable results.

Australia has a world-class education level, contributing 3% of the world's scientific research results with less than 0.5% of the world's population. The University of New South Wales and the University of Queensland, as members of the Group of Eight (Go8) in Australia, have a reputation for their educational resources and faculty strength worldwide. The University of New South Wales ranks 19th in the QS World University Rankings, and its Faculty of Arts, Design, and Architecture is one of the top five humanities and social sciences disciplines in Australia, and the only one that integrates various old and new art and design courses. The University of Queensland ranks 43rd in the QS World University Rankings, and engineering is one of its leading disciplines.

The cooperation between Feng Chia University and these two top Australian institutions, the Design Double Bachelor Degree Program with the University of New South Wales and the Electrical Engineering Double Bachelor Degree Program with the University of Queensland, marks a new milestone in Feng Chia's international education cooperation and also enhances Feng Chia's position in the international education field. It will also provide unique learning opportunities and cultural experiences for Taiwanese students, and open up a broader vision for their future.
