The Taiwan finals of the 8th Mobile Application Innovation Contest were held on July 10. A student team from Feng Chia University earned the First Prize with their innovative app “Little Sage”, which integrates animated visuals, read‑aloud features, and gamified learning.
This year’s competition reached a record scale, attracting 583 teams from 79 colleges and universities, with a total of 1,017 student participants. The winning work will represent Taiwan at the 2024 Greater China Mobile Application Innovation Contest in November, showcasing Taiwanese students’ outstanding capabilities in technological innovation.

Feng Chia University students Yi‑Hsuan Chiu from the Department of Applied Mathematics, and Jen‑Wei Chang and Kai‑You Lin from the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, won the First Prize with their app “Little Sage.”
In addition to the top honor, three other cross‑department and cross‑university teams from Feng Chia University also won Third Prizes with their projects:
- AirTunes — an AI‑powered application that generates real‑time, personalized music
- PetScan – Vet Companion — a pet‑care app providing skin analysis, diet logs, medication records, and veterinary search features
- CareSync — a family medical management app that integrates calendars with family medical records to improve healthcare coordination
These works highlight FCU students’ exceptional creativity and technical skills in the field of mobile innovation

Cross‑department and cross‑university teams from Feng Chia University earned Third Prizes with their applications AirTunes, PetScan – Vet Companion, and CareSync – Family Care Sync.
Since its launch in 2017, the Mobile Application Innovation Contest has reached its eighth edition. This year’s event was co‑organized by Apple, its reseller Straight A, and the Apple Regional Training Centers at Feng Chia University and National Taiwan University, with a dedicated focus on iOS/iPadOS application design and development.
Feng Chia University expressed pride in the creativity and innovation demonstrated by its participating students and looks forward to seeing more young innovators excel in future competitions, bringing further recognition to the university
