With the support of the Australian government's New Colombo Plan, a delegation of 18 students and faculty members from the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EECS) at the University of Queensland visited Feng Chia University from June 28 to July 2, hosted by the International School of Technology and Management. This visit not only continued the cooperation between the two schools in the business field, such as the 2+2 dual bachelor's and 1+1 dual master's programs, but also further enhanced the linkages of academic exchange and collaboration.
The five-day and four-night exchange program included visits to well-known attractions such as Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, Sun Moon Lake, and Fengjia Night Market, as well as visits to Winbond Electronics and Sinbon Electronics, Taiwan's semiconductor industry partners that have long-term cooperation with Feng Chia University, to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan's corporate culture and technological development. In addition, an AI robot workshop Innovation Project was arranged, taught by Professor Lin Wei-lun from Feng Chia University, to teach students from both schools the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovative thinking through games.
Professor Shaun Chen, the representative of the EECS delegation from the University of Queensland, and the UQ students expressed their gratitude for Feng Chia's meticulous arrangements. Shaun pointed out that this exchange not only played an important role in promoting global vision and advancing innovation in electrical engineering and information education but also laid a good foundation for similar activities between the two schools in the future.
The entire visit was accompanied by Feng Chia University students who acted as Taiwan squad mentors, personally leading the visiting UQ teachers and students to get to know Taiwan's culture and cuisine, showing the hospitality of the hosts. At the end of the event, they all said that We must keep in touch., and we agreed that one day in the future we would meet again, and this time the place would not be Feng Chia, but far away in Queensland. This event was not only a cultural exchange but also a valuable life experience. The enthusiasm and efforts of the Feng Chia University students left a deep impression on the UQ teachers and students and also demonstrated the strong friendship between the two schools.
