President Wei Wang Named the 27th Outstanding Alumna of National Chung Hsing University

This year marks the 104th anniversary of National Chung Hsing University, which has selected nine distinguished alumni across four major fields: academic research, corporate leadership, public service, and arts and culture. President Wei Wang of Feng Chia University was selected as one of the recipients of the 27th Outstanding Alumni Award.

President Wang earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Agricultural Economics at National Chung Hsing University, specializing in microeconomic theory and mathematical economics. After receiving her doctoral degree, she entered the field of higher education and has served at Feng Chia University for more than 30 years. Since assuming office in August 2022 as the university’s 13th president—also the first female president in Feng Chia’s history—her warm yet steady leadership has guided more than 20,000 faculty members and students toward continued achievements.

Under her leadership, Feng Chia University’s Phase II Higher Education Sprout Project was recognized by the Ministry of Education for its 5G + AI Initiative, securing the second-highest funding among all private universities nationwide. The university also achieved three consecutive years of top rankings in the Ministry of Education’s University Development Project grants for Academic Year 2022. Through persistent educational reform and dedicated institutional development, Feng Chia University has earned the trust and support of parents and students across Taiwan, achieving full enrollment in the 2023 distribution admissions despite the challenges of declining birthrates.

These accomplishments stem from the efforts of past leaders as well as the determination of current leadership. Since taking office, President Wang has prioritized innovative teaching, redesigning curricula and academic systems, and breaking through structural limitations in teaching, staffing, administration, and departmental frameworks. Initiatives such as Smart Course Selection / Lifetime Curriculum Plan, the development of Feng Chia’s signature digital learning model, the creation of high‑quality signature courses, and implementation of an innovative curriculum structure embody her goal: to ensure that every student at Feng Chia truly feels “All in, All yours!”, experiencing the idea that “the entire Feng Chia University is your department.”

President Wang’s talent and leadership are not only recognized within Feng Chia University but also celebrated by her alma mater. Her selection as one of National Chung Hsing University’s Outstanding Alumni is well‑deserved, and the entire Feng Chia community shares great pride in her achievement.
