On September 15, the Ministry of Education announced the second‑phase (Academic Years 2023–2025) results of the Bilingual Education Program for College Students. Three colleges at Feng Chia University—the International School of Technology and Management (NT$4 million), the College of Business (NT$5 million), and the School of Architecture (NT$4 million)—were selected as Key Development Colleges. Among comprehensive private universities, Feng Chia ranks among those with the highest number of selected colleges. Together with an additional NT$2.6 million university‑level allocation, the total subsidy amounts to NT$15.6 million.
According to the university’s Mid‑Term Institutional Development Plan for Academic Years 2023–2025, Feng Chia University aims to become a “4I University,” characterized by Innovation, Interdisciplinarity, Internationalization, and Impact—with sustainable influence on society and industry. One of the six primary goals is to strengthen student international mobility and the international learning environment. Under this objective, a major strategic focus is to enhance EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) teaching quality and expand EMI professional course modules based on the strengths of each college.
Since Academic Year 2021, Feng Chia University has collaborated with The University of Adelaide to train EMI instructors, with a total of 40 faculty members having completed the program. To improve practical English‑medium teaching competency, the university has also established professional learning communities and organized EMI teaching‑experience workshops. These efforts strengthen on‑campus bilingual teaching and learning, systematically expanding full‑English course modules to enhance student learning outcomes.
