2026.05.18

Demonstrating the enduring spirit of giving back to their alma mater, alumni of Feng Chia University once again returned to campus on May 14. The Kaohsiung FCU Huan-Hsi-Jen Association held its Scholarship Award Ceremony for the second semester of Academic Year 2025–2026 at the Sixth International Conference Hall, providing tangible support to students in need. For 24 consecutive years, the Association has remained committed to helping younger generations pursue their studies while exemplifying FCU’s strong alumni network and tradition of mutual support.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including FCU Chairperson Cheng-Shu Kao, President Wei Wang, Student Association President Shih-Ting Yang, Kaohsiung FCU Huan-Hsi-Jen Association President Kun-Shan Chen, Association founder Sheng-Chang Lin, FCU Alumni Association Honorary President Peng-Hsien Shih, and Hsinchu Alumni Association board member Chen-Hung Chen, along with other alumni leaders and faculty members. Their presence highlighted the importance of this long-standing tradition of support and encouragement.

During the ceremony, Chairperson Cheng-Shu Kao encouraged the 54 scholarship recipients to apply for the International Study and Living Scholarship, sponsored by Chun-Kan Chen, President of the 19th EMBA Alumni Association. The scholarship is specifically designated to support recipients of the Huan-Hsi-Jen Association in pursuing overseas learning opportunities and broadening their international perspectives. He noted that 12 places remain available. President Wei Wang added that FCU students and alumni continue to excel across diverse fields, demonstrating the University’s strong sense of unity and competitiveness.

Continuing a tradition of care and support for 24 years, the Kaohsiung FCU Huan-Hsi-Jen Association held its scholarship award ceremony on May 14, helping students pursue their studies with greater peace of mind.

Association President Kun-Shan Chen shared his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning. Having led a technology company in the semiconductor industry for more than 40 years, he emphasized the importance of continuously acquiring new knowledge, especially in an era shaped by rapid advances in artificial intelligence. He urged students to strengthen their professional expertise, cultivate global perspectives, and confidently face future challenges.

Honorary Alumni Association President Peng-Hsien Shih described the close-knit support among FCU alumni as “the selfishness of FCU people” in the most positive sense—an eagerness to help fellow alumni and younger generations succeed. He encouraged scholarship recipients to continue this cycle of kindness and give back when they are able in the future.

Student Association President Shih-Ting Yang also encouraged recipients to remain focused on their studies regardless of external challenges or personal pressures, assuring them that both the University and its alumni would always stand behind them as a strong support network.

This semester, 54 students each received a scholarship of NT$12,000, while 10 outstanding students received an additional Academic Excellence Scholarship of NT$3,000 each, bringing the total amount awarded to NT$678,000. The Liao Ying-Ming Education Foundation has also been a long-term supporter of the Association, continuously contributing scholarship resources since 2014 and increasing its donations in recent years to benefit more students.

To date, the Huan-Hsi-Jen Association has awarded scholarships to 1,905 students, totaling NT$23.339 million, and has provided NT$344,000 in emergency assistance over the past 24 years. The ceremony was more than a scholarship presentation—it was a meaningful gathering that fostered intergenerational connections and allowed students to experience the genuine care and encouragement of FCU and its alumni community.
