FCU Men’s Basketball Team Claims Third Place in UBA National Finals, Showcasing Remarkable Team Resilience

The 2025–2026 UBA University Basketball Association (General Division) National Finals concluded with an impressive performance by the Feng Chia University men’s basketball team. Demonstrating outstanding resilience and determination throughout the tournament, FCU defeated defending champion National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University 94–84 in the third-place game to secure the national bronze medal. The achievement not only brought honor to the University but also tied the best finish in team history.

The Feng Chia University men’s basketball team captured third place nationwide in the 2025–2026 UBA University Basketball Association (General Division) National Finals.

FCU’s offensive firepower was on full display throughout the national finals. In the opening game against Vanung University, the team delivered a balanced offensive performance and cruised to a 99–57 victory. Freshman center Chen-En Lo led the way with an outstanding double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds.

In the quarterfinals against National Defense Medical Center, FCU advanced to the semifinals with an 81–69 win. Effective ball movement, well-executed tactics, and strong teamwork resulted in five players scoring in double figures.

The semifinal matchup against CTBC Business School proved to be a highly competitive contest. FCU controlled the tempo early and built a double-digit lead in the first quarter. However, after halftime, their opponent responded with a barrage of three-point shots to reverse the momentum. Despite a heroic effort from Ya-Chun Kuan, who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds, FCU narrowly fell 76–82 and missed the opportunity to advance to the championship game.

Determined to bounce back from the semifinal disappointment, the team quickly regrouped for the third-place game. Facing defending champion National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, FCU displayed exceptional composure under pressure. Through consistent outside shooting and aggressive defense, the team controlled the pace of play and ultimately secured a 94–84 victory to capture third place in the nation.

The season perfectly reflected the team’s guiding belief: “What makes us strong is not winning or losing, but who we are when we stand together.” The players’ ability to support one another through adversity and perform as a united team became one of the most inspiring stories of the season.

Although the season has come to an end, the FCU men’s basketball team is already looking ahead. Having matched the best result in program history, the team has set its sights on an even greater goal—competing for the highest honor in collegiate basketball and earning a place at the UBA championship stage in Taipei Arena next season.

With renewed determination and confidence gained from this year’s success, the team will continue pursuing excellence and striving to reach new heights in the future.
