From November 21 to 22, twelve professors from five top Italian universities gathered at Feng Chia University. After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), they immediately began cross-college collaborations and industry visits, engaging in in-depth exchanges with the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Architecture, and College of Business.

Among them, the delegation from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO)—including Vice President for International Affairs Alberto Sapora, Professor of Electrical Engineering and President’s Technology Transfer Representative Gianmario Pellegrino, IEEE Fellow in the semiconductor field Professor Fabrizio Bonani, and Chair of the Department of Control and Computer Engineering Luca Sterpone—initiated technical exchanges and research collaborations with the College of Information and Electrical Engineering right after the signing ceremony on the morning of the 21st.

In the afternoon, accompanied by Dean Tsu-Wang Shen of the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, the POLITO delegation and Bruno Dragonetti, representative of the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office, visited Micron Technology’s Taichung site to gain insights into advanced semiconductor manufacturing and the global chip supply chain. On the following morning (22nd), the College of Information and Electrical Engineering hosted the “Advanced Information, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor, and Information Security Forum,” facilitating in-depth industry-academia-research dialogues with the POLITO professors. In the afternoon, the delegation visited TSMC to further strengthen cooperation in technology and talent cultivation with Taiwan’s leading semiconductor company.
