Feng Chia University Upgrades 5G Campus: Enhanced Environment for Students and Faculty.

To assist faculty and students from various departments in fully utilizing our university's 5G campus and effectively managing the utilization of the expanded 5G implementation, the Office of Technology Development and the 5G Laboratory have been conducting several related educational training courses since the year 2024, allowing faculty and students to experience the expanded and upgraded 5G campus firsthand.

Since April 2022, Feng Chia University has collaborated with the Marketech International Corporation to jointly create the only 5G private network experimental field in Taiwan's universities, expanding 5G private networks to four indoor venues on campus (Chung Ching Building, Engineering Building, Soil and Water Building, and Information and Electronics Building) in December 2023. The 5G experimental private network now includes one core network, fifteen sets of indoor base stations, and one outdoor base station, all certified by the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the NCC.

The "5G Private Network Interconnection Practical and Application Workshop" held on January 11th and 12th attracted over 80 faculty and students, where they gained hands-on experience and deeper insights into 5G network settings and applications across various fields.

The "Advanced Education Training Course on 5G Private Networks" on January 18th enhanced participants' practical abilities in network management, enabling them to grasp 5G communication technology and private network operations more effectively.

On January 19th, the 5G Laboratory and the Office of Academic Affairs collaborated to showcase the 5G education base to new teachers, encouraging them to explore and utilize 5G technology on campus.

Feng Chia University aims to become a pioneer in 5G application development, contributing to the construction of a new model of digital innovation and smart cities in Taiwan.
