2021.07.12

Rai Manu, a fresh graduate from the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, was recruited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study the Master of Information Engineering and Computer Science at Feng Chia University two years ago. He completed his studies as scheduled and is about to return to his mother country. Unexpectedly, due to the warming of the new crown epidemic in my country, the country raised Taiwan’s travel warnings. Returning to the country will have to bear an additional quarantine fee of nearly 60,000 Taiwan dollars. The country’s annual income is only about 70,000 Taiwan dollars. For Rai Manu, this is no doubt, the huge sum of money has become a huge burden, making it difficult to return home, but it is also difficult to get a job in Taiwan. The school and alumni learned the message from the advisor, Prof. Lee Rongsan, and they generously donated the money and quickly collected the necessary funds. On July 12, the donation was handed over to Rai Manu in person, so that he could take the flight on July 14. Return home. Rai Manu, who is full of gratitude, said that the warm care of the school and alumni will accompany him back to his motherland and will always keep it in his heart.

The Covid-19 pandemic has indeed disrupted the lives of many people or caused unexpected accidents. When the school received the message, it actively provided relevant assistance. Through the on-campus contingency measures, Mr. Liu Shaozong from the School of Information and Electricity and the Office of Student Affairs allocated emergency relief. The gold is NT$15,000 and NT$10,000 respectively. Alumni also donated 15,000 yuan and 15,500 yuan respectively through the Taipei Fengjia University Alumni Cultural and Educational Foundation and Taipei Fengjia University Alumni Association within a few hours of receiving the message. With the joint assistance of the school and alumni, the fees successfully met the standard in a very short time, demonstrating the quick and timely warmth of Feng Chiaers.
