FCU invites Prof. Chi-Chur Chao as a full-time professor of the Department of Economics
In 2021, FCU invites Professor Chi-Chur Chao from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia as a full-time professor of the Department of Economics, relying on Professor Chao’s international academic status and abundant academic and research wisdom in the field of international trade and economic development, and promoting the participation of young teachers in the school in academic activities and driving the teachers to develop a research atmosphere and energy, thereby enhancing the international visibility of Feng Chia University in the academic field of business.

FCU invites Professor Chao as a full-time teacher in the Department of Economics.
Professor Chao has a PhD in Economics from Southern Illinois University. After obtaining his degree, he has taught at the University of Mississippi, Oregon State University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. During his academic career , he has served as the editorial board of many SSCI journals and published more than 100 journal papers in international journals. The research results are quite fruitful; especially in the research on topics such as tourism, talent mobility and industrial mobility.
Professor Chao established a deep bond with Feng Chia University in the very early years of serving as a full-time lecturer in the Department of Economics for 2 years. After becoming a teacher, since 2005, whether he is a visiting professor or a chair professor, he has maintained close contact and exchanges with the school for many years, and has been very supportive of the academic activities organized by the Department of Economics.
He values academic exchanges and actively coordinates international academic seminars every year. He has led several international journal editors to Taiwan more than once to participate in the Fengjia International Academic Seminar and the Workshop of the Economic Research Institute of Academia Sinica. Every year, teachers and doctoral students of the Department of Economics are also invited to participate in the "WEA International Academic Seminar" organized by the American Western Economics Association, which is of great help to the improvement of the school's research atmosphere and academic standards.
