2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of Feng Chia University. In order to further the development of education, the school is actively launching the "Feng Chia 60 Talent Development Project". The first batch of Chair Professor Chen Junxun, the former vice president of Jiao Tong University, is a leader in national defense technology. His expertise is in the integration of high-altitude spacecraft and underwater unmanned vehicle systems. At present, Feng Chia University and National Yangming Jiaotong University are co-employed. Since the 2021-2022 academic year, under its promotion and leadership, the two universities will actively invest in defense technology and semiconductor research and development, establish independent defense technology forces and drive the development of the defense industry.
The academic cooperation between the two sides includes two parts: research and teaching
In the teaching part, Feng Chia University College of Engineering and Science will participate in the cooperation between Yangming Jiaotong University and the Space Center to open online courses; Fengjia will also cooperate with Yangming Jiaotong University's School of Semiconductors to open courses in related fields and invite senior TSMC semiconductor experts and experts to give lectures. In addition to courses, the two schools will also conduct intensive academic and learning exchanges through real-time teaching, joint guidance of doctoral students, and research team cooperation.
In the research part, under the planning of Chen Lecture, Feng Chia University will establish a national defense technology research center internally and invest in the development of related fields; externally, it will actively introduce related external resources such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hanxiang Company, and the semiconductor industry, and cooperate with the College of Engineering and Science, the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, and the College of Construction and Development work together to strive for relevant research or industry-university cooperation projects.
