Junlin Jian, a fresh graduate of the Department of Transportation and Logistics, under the guidance of teacher Wu Peiru, participated in the 2020 National Industrial Engineering and Management Master Thesis Contest hosted by the Chinese Society of Industrial Engineering and co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. "Service System and Technology Management Team" won the best results.

Junlin Jian’s award-winning paper is titled "Identifying Online and Offline Food Similarity by Deep Learning Neural Network". The research content is mainly to deal with the problem of inconsistency between online shopping photos and actual products in the process of O2O omnichannel new retail operations. As a food quality control tool for catering stores, this detection technology can greatly reduce the probability of returns, allow the logistics industry to effectively use logistics resources, and create novel development benefits for omni-channel new retail.

Teacher Wu Peiru said that the Master's Thesis Contest in Industrial Engineering and Management has been held for many years, and it is a good opportunity to review learning and research results and to communicate with each other. The competition is divided into five major categories: "Operation Research", "Production System", "Human Factors Engineering and Design", "Information System", and "Service System and Technology Management" according to the planning of the sub-fields of the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In addition to the field, the field of "Practical Cases (including EMBA)" is added. The Department of Transportation and Logistics provides abundant resources and solid training. Students are also earnestly studying under the guidance and cultivation of teachers. Student Jian’s paper puts AI technology in the transportation and logistics profession as the best example of "service system and technology management". Stand out among many competitors and keep abreast of the top and national university students.
